The Stronghold review covers 'the original castle sim' and its sequel Stronghold Crusader. I haven't heard about any sequels besides Stronghold 2 don't tell. Aug 15, 2014 Stronghold Crusader 2 will take fans of the series back to the desert for more RTS mayhem in the castles of brutal knights and fiery Caliphs. The game takes the world of fast paced skirmish play to. The story of me and crusader goes like this.I open a new PC gamer, see an advertisement, and got it the day it came out without any info or reviews. It seems like when I first got these games, nobody really knew about them, or hadn't played them.but now if I post about them on the IGN PC board or at other forums, I'm bombarded by replies. | posted 01-26-06 01:58 EST (US) 1 / 10 Do a little research. Read a review for it. IGN, GameSpot, ect. They will tell you everything new and changed. Personally I don't think the game is fuctionable enough to play where it's fully enjoyable. Maybe my standards are too high. :-/ My main complaint is the lag. You can just taste how cool the game would be if you could have more units on screen without all smoothness going to hell. Brango no deposit bonus. I'm having doubts if the lag will ever be removed enough where it's unnoticable. Because that is a core game engine component that I believe cannot be easily fixed without the whole engine being rebuilt (or large sections of it). But if they can optimize the engine a bit more where I can have more units on screen, then I can see the game being a quite a bit more enjoyable.. If I were you, I would wait for another patch to be released before I'd buy it. :-/ Check out my bug list in the Technical forum. Most of those bugs are pretty minor, so don't freak out. SH1: 7/10 -fun to play -Ai are funny -graphics are ok; 2D -map making is very good SHC: 9.5/10 -very very fun to play -Ai are funny -difforent Ai -Skirmish matches possible -Skirmish trail -graphics ok; 2D -map making is good SH2: 9.5/10 -fun to play -Ai are not funny; boring -good graphics; 3D -Kingmaker -Path of piece/war -map making is good Lords: Conquest - Medieval MMOG 'Come to think of it, how many people CAN fit on a pike?' -artofmath 'How to kill the Rat: Build 20 Horse archers and 10 swords men. | posted 01-26-06 19:10 EST (US) 3 / 10 Go into graphics config and turn down Draw Distance a LOT. It wont affect your game graphics wise, but it should make it run oodles faster. |

I dont have the lag issues that some speak of, but after quite a few years of dealing with buggy games I must say that i am TOTALLY impressed with FF employees listening to what you guys have to say. I wont hijack this thread but I could go on about companies who dont care, but i dont think FF is one of them. |

Here here, that's exactly how I think about FireFly, maybe the game isn't how it was supposed to be and there are still bugs in the game, but, the way that FF has handled it by keeping an open mind and ear for there fans and customers, I have never ever seen this from any other developer. | posted 01-29-06 13:41 EST (US) 7 / 10 If you bought the game when it first came out, and waited for the patch 1.3.1, then you wouldnt be so impressed by firefly and i still say you get just as much fun out of Stronghold Crusader as you will Stronghold 2, for a fraction of the price. If you have anywhere near the minimum specs then you will be disappointed in the game play. I, like a few others, built a computer specifically to play this game and thanks to all the bells and whistles have managed to play epic battles with hundreds of units and no lag whatsoever.. I purchased the game within hours of it's release and found it to be virtually unplayable in it's original incarnation. My older Dell just didn't have the horses to make the game run smoothly.. After all the patches and upgrades I can run the game in all it's glory. It was worth it! Henry Percy called Hotspur; son of Henry Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland; faught at the famous Battle of Otterburn; a real person transfixed by an arrow at the battle of Shrewsbury; died while attempting to overthrow King Henry IV in 1403. Hotspur was an important character in Shakespeare's HENRY IV.. |
